I used to have a Dean that was a pretty good guitar to start with. Ibanez also makes a good guitar for a low price.

One of my friends knows how to play the violin. She's insanely good at it, her sister knows how to play the harp, her mother knows how to play the violin even better (which I didn't know was even possible)... and her brother knows how to play the cello.
Haha, they are an insanely talented family.
I'm hopefully going to play the guitar someday.

I started out with a fender squire. It's a great starter and its only like 100- 200 bucks with amp cables and all. But I've got 7 guitars and I would say that my esp ninja 600 plays the best. I also recomend ernie ball strings, cuz theyre a a little bit easier on your fingers. If you play an hour a day youll be a bad ass in two months =)
