Techno?! What?

"It's very funny to listen, but it's lefting something... I dunno what is.
Grats."

That's how I felt... but now I know what it is that it's lacking.

It's not metal... Haha. You should totally do a metal cover. I guarantee that'd make you famous. Haha. Doooo it!

Other then that man. You've got some sick techno skills :P Haha. Never though I'd say that about you.

Good job man!

deathkllr84 responds:

thanks man. I think theres already a metal cover out there. This was just for fun. hahaha

Hmm.

I like the effects. They add a nice subtle tune to it. Thing is though, I'm agreeing with RexFord. It really needs some climaxs. It's nice and all, but it's so close to drum and bass, that really it needs some crazy climaxs to make it feel better.

Anyways. Thats my thoughts, but it was pretty sweet overall.

:D

ReFreezed responds:

DnB? Yeah, perhaps it is. I guess I have to remove a little ambiance and add a little more crazy stuff to make everyone happy. :) I might do a revisit of the song.

Well, as always, thanks a lot for the review!

Hmmm

I don't feel like this is your best work, but I do feel as though it's still quite good.

It's just a pad, and I understand that it's meant to be a trance sound. Though I feel like you could of gone further with the song, adding some of your excellent piano. Not much of a large melody like always, but just a few notes here and there.

I like what you did, but I've heard better from you.

Good job with this though.

- 1 for remix, and 1 for a lack of instruments. (I understand that this may of been what you were going for, it just wasn't in my taste, and yes. I still understand that this was a good piece of work.)

Tysuru responds:

This song was a little harder to cover. Cause I've always loved the serenade of water's original feel. So I guess I tried really hard to emphasize it.

I'll agree it's not my best. But i still like getting lost in the chords. I LOVE them... haha

Thank you =]

Excellent!

Darn near perfect in almost everyway. Even though this may not be a real piano, you made it feel so melodic.

Very very impressive job, I feel like each day I keep getting better at making classical, but then I hear this, and you make mine sound as though it's rubbish garbage.

You've become one of my favorite music posters in such a short short time of 15 minutes.

I expect to hear more from you. This is extremely extremely good stuff. Very epic!

10/10 Awesome job.

Tysuru responds:

haha, I'm gonna go listen to your stuff right now and think the same thing of you, that you make MY music sound like rubbish.

You will definitely hear more from me, as long as you keep listening.

Thank you humbly for your kind words.
I absolutely love nice feedback, makes me wanna make more... bahaha

I'm very displeased :C

Not at all with this song though, I really like this song. I'm displeased that I didn't do near the excellent job you did.

I like your take on this, rapid, mellow, slow, it meshes all of those together.

Your bass was excellent. Your melody... It was all great.

I only take one off for it being a remix, but I like it. Lots. Excellent job!

Tysuru responds:

Thank you very much for those kind words. It means a lot, really.

I believe.

People are reviewing off opinions...

I do believe opinions should help guide your review, but they shouldn't judge the rating you give it. As I give 9's all the time this is why: I rate the song on how it's composed, I give it a 1 - 9. When I give a song a 10, it's the kind of song that truly impresses me to no end, and goes on my zune to be listened to time after time... 100's and thousands of times.

Now onto the actual review:

This is definitely the best of the series... and I disagree with tyzone and trancik (even though I can't see any review from him)...

The melody is downright awesome. The composing is really great. I like your modulations to the X and Y on the... I think sq? Maybe?

The melodies flowed amazingly with each other. The bass was execptionally great, and with every ReF song out there, the drums sounded pretty amazing.

Everything was great here...

My ratings:

9/9 construction wise
.7 on enjoyability scale (highest is 1)
5/5 (Just cause you always get one from me)

Excellent job with these! Sad to see the series end.

ReFreezed responds:

Trancik's review seems to have been deleted. He was an evil troll. :'(

Anyway, I agree with what you say about opinions affecting reviews and scores. A review should be about the song itself, and not really about how you personally though of it.

I did make quite a lot of use of low-pass filters and resonance for several shapes. I've found out that it gives the song much more life.

Heh. Who would've though that random white noise would make such good drums?

Thanks a lot for a long real review!! :D

And only because the series has ended doesn't mean I won't make these kind of songs anymore, but I want to focus more on more advanced things now. I probably learned something from this too. :)

Bummer :C

When I saw you had a new track out. I was all happy...

Oh well... Lol.

I like it at the full tempo good sir.

deathkllr84 responds:

hahaha. I will be coming out with a full length album before xmas hopefully. Patience, my friend.

Hmmm...

Sounds like a good doom song. If you haven't played doom, please go shoot yourself. Hahahaha. No don't that would be bad. Lol. Anyways, you should look up the game sometime though, because this totally sounds like it could be in there...

Like S3C said. I'd like to hear a solo.

Other then that. Nice job here. I liked it.

Haggard responds:

I played Doom (I'm nearly 30, so yeah... I was still young when it came out :P ) but it makes me sick. Literally. Motion sick. :(

Anyway, thanks for the review!

Whoa.

From the opening, I was suspecting this to come out... Not well. Haha.

The middle of the song sounds excellent. The drums blend well, and the strings just set the whole mood.

The only thing I would suggest is that you edit the opening, and maybe add a little more reverb to your piano.

Very nice piece here.

Step responds:

Ah, the opening. I don't usually start my songs like that, so I decided to try something new. I admit it does sound quite boring. What I might do is after every note, strings fade in, and once it plays another note, the strings fade out and back in again. Either that, or maybe give it a delay. Anyway, thanks for the review, I'm glad you enjoyed the song :).

Hmmm...

Some of your melody's seem to try to over power the other, and that makes them stand out by them self. When they should be working together to form harmony.

Your drums are pretty good, but I think they need a bit more presence. They seemed to be there, but they lacked that dance feeling that most dance song drums have.

The textures you used were really good choices. Some of the synths sounded good, but they seemed like maybe they could use a bit of reverb? The trumpet sound that comes in, it seems like it's a little too loud, I think that could be toned down a bit.

Other then that, it's got excellent composition, and it gives a very much trance-like feeling to it.

-Lubz

Echo responds:

When you mention the overpowering, that's supposed to happen in some parts. I changed the theme of the song a bit from the original, making it sound more like a three way battle between the piano, the synth and the trumpet.

Still though, i agree that i tried too hard to overpower in some parts, i guess i could change that and i already turned down the volume on the trumpet ;)

Thks for the review, hope i'll be seeing more of ur songs on the RRC request list :)

I can create melody, I can create a beat, but I'm not the one who creates the emotions you feel.
