Hmmm.

Peaceful, strong instrument choices, good melody.

Those are really what I got from this piece, it's really melodic, and nice. If this is an intro to an album that's slower, you've got a good piece. Otherwise, It could use some speeding up.

I'm not sure if you want to or not, but one thing I thought it could use were some timpani's and crashes. I think that'd add some extra to the aura of the song.

Overall though man, this is a nice piece. Great work!

TehGodoFall responds:

Actually, It's supposed to be light on the instrumentals. It's actually the intro to the album (I just noticed you said that, so disregard that). The album goes both ways, It crescendos through the entire album, so this starts it off slow on purpose.

Thanks for your review!

Hmmm.

I likethis sir.

The cellos and basses are a real nice touch. The whole thing is mellow, just like this says, and it's got a good melody.

Nice stuff.

MrKennedy123 responds:

Thanks. I myself also agree with the melody. It's definitely one of the better themes i've come up with.

Merh.

I'm not sure if I'm chilling as much as I have in the past.

The drums, atleast on my crappy laptop speakers... are way... way over powering the rest. The snare is extremely loud. *Plugs in headphones* Not as bad on headphones, Actually I don't think they're bad at all on headphones, but that's probably because of the powerful bass kick. I like the bass kick a lot in this song.

You're overall melodies are swell. Some odd choices, but they are good.

Overall, I've not much to complain about, but maybe the high treble on the snare.

/late review.

AlmostTechnicolor responds:

Yeah, I listened to this on these really crappy speakers earlier today and it sounded so bad. I hate how much of a difference different speakers make. Sigh.

I like the snare loud, yo. It screams in pleasure.

Ohh...

First off. You make far better music that's not on the computer =P That may not sound like a compliment, but it totally is. It's better to be good in real life, then on the computer.

Now onto the review:

I agree somewhat with what Mr. Cebster said, but I also disagree. Yes it is early, but the earlier the better. Mastering can make all the difference in a song. I came across a song earlier that made that point proven, where they had this one synth too loud and it shattered my headphones. Literally. The left side won't work >:(

Anyways, you don't have the mastering down, but it's still fairly decent for a first song that is. I'd like to know what program you used for this?

Overall man, you've got the melody stuff down. Just gotta get that mastering stuff.

Good work.

Lpauley responds:

sorry for my belated responses to well.. everything haha.
i'm using fl studio 9, but i was basically just using one mixer and the piano roll on like two different vsts haha

im not sure im going to keep working on computer generated music, but i'd love to take your advice :p

Merh.

Ya need some work.

You're mastering is what mainly needs work. Your over all melody is good. Actually great... it's just thrown away by your mastering, and yes, mastering can make all the difference.

There were several things that stood out.

First thing that came to mind: The click, it's not the kick drum, but possibly the snare? It's just a click sound that's extremely high pitched, and blasts out loudly. Possibly drop the dynamics, or lower the volume...

The next thing was the bass. Or rather the high version of the bass. That came in at :34 It's tooo loud. It definitely should be lowered.

Then there was some texture... that for a while, stood on it's own. Which it's not bad itself, but it's also too loud.

Those 3 things really took away from my experience.

The ending with the tempo slowed down was a definite plus though. Keep that :D

Drums: Yes
Melody: Yes
Volume: No.

Kherr responds:

Now this is the kind of input I like to hear!

I merely threw this together in literally 2 hours... it's a sampler for the few people that follow me to let them know that I'm back. I didn't actually devote any time to this, I'll re-release a mastered version, this was just raw soundloops, no mastering whatsoever... :D Thanks for the positive response though! :D

BTW - I like the icon for your profile... DOOM was epic in itself... Skulltag for the win! :D

*EDIT*

I cannot release a mastered copy of this simply because I had a critical HDD failure coupled with a motherboard failure and had to buy this new lappy, but then just so happened to have a critical failure with the HDD again, so I replaced the HDD but now had to install linux because I didn't have a legit copy of windows for it, so yea... I'm in the red ATM... BUT, when I can afford to I will be buying a copy of Windows XP Professional and a new PC for that windows... T_T

Oh?

This is here too?

I've listened to it like 7 or 8 times on Bandcamp... I never knew it was here.

I really like this one, the kick is freaking awesome. Not the kick drum either, the whole kick of the song, the way it just kinda shows you it's there. Like. KAPOW!

Anyways... It's full of epicness, and I've nothing to say against it.

Excellent transitions, drums, structure, melody, beat, everything good sir.

ReFreezed responds:

Whoa, I totally missed your review :O

But now I'm feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. Thanks for the liking! :D

We rock.

Pretty much nothing more needs to be said.

We rock, and we should collab all the more.

Lamplighter responds:

We rock more than a landslide of boulders. We rock more than a field of asteroids. We rock... a lot.

I say definitely. We need to collab our hearts out and then collab our livers out... perhaps that's too much. But yes. I see many a collab in the future :D

Erhmm.

I don't even want to do this... so here are some tips:

Learn structure.
Lose the high pitch noises.
Actually make melody.
Don't try to rape someone's ears.

Then you'll have decent industrial.

JustLikeAmmy responds:

Blow me.

Rusty.

Though near the end, I started hearing a better transition.

You're lacking some... everything... in the last little bit? Haha.

The 39 second transition is my absolute favorite part of this song. It just flips crazy on you in a snap. That's very enjoyable :D

Overall, It's awkward, but in a pizzabox sense. a rusty pizzabox.

But the thing is, it totally gets better as it progresses, and shows you coming back into real pizzaboxness. Not there yet, but ever close.

Opening half = 8
Closing half = 9

Keep rocking that legal reason :D

PizzaBox responds:

Thanks :D

Yeah, it's really really rusty.

It's good to be making music again though!!!

Pizza[Box]

This is weird...

I love it.

Awkward a lil. Yet good.

Why... oh wait. But no... External HDD... yes? Why no steinway?

PizzaBox responds:

Yamaha, dude.

Specifically, Cold Clocks. I never use the dry pianos that come in that refill. They're so boring and lifeless. I stick to Cold Clocks, The Legend, and Massive. Sometimes I use some of the other ones if it better suits the song, though. Piano In The Back Lounge is brilliant for certain themes.

I can create melody, I can create a beat, but I'm not the one who creates the emotions you feel.
